About Me and Where it all Started!
I am Claire, founder of Babease massage, I am a fully qualified massage and yoga instructor, trained by Hands on Babies, accredited by the royal college of midwives, a member of independent therapist international and international complementary therapist association, also fully insured.
I am a qualified Nursery nurse and have been for over 25 years with experience in nursery and schools. For the last 14 years I have worked for the NHS on the Health visiting team, visiting mums and families at home to support with breastfeeding, weaning, sleep and behavior management and parenting issues, I do development assessment and health baby clinic. Part of my role was to deliver baby massage as part of a post-natal group, I have delivered these groups all over Tameside for over10 years. As the NHS no longer offer this and parents are constantly asking where they can go to do this and I felt passionate about the benefits for mums and babies I have trained to teach baby massage and baby yoga. I am also NBO trained this is how babies communicate with you from birth, this helps parents to bond and feel more confident, I am trained in positive parenting and have run many groups. As a mum to 3 now teenage children I understand how hard and rewarding it is to be a mum. Massage wasn’t available when I had my daughters however a year later is was when I had my son and as he had eczema and didn’t sleep well we ourselves benefited from baby massage and it became part of our daily routine and it changed our day to day life.
The massage and yoga groups I will be running will be a five week course for parents and babies to develop a deep bond, relax and meet other babies and parents in a relaxed comfortable environment. It is designed to introduce you both to the basics principles of baby massage and yoga in a clear consistent easy to follow session. The sessions are run weekly over 5 weeks to allow you time to practice techniques at home, step by step notes will be given at each session to help you when at home and build your confidence. Within the session there will also be time to chat and get to know each other, to share worries and ideas. A short break with cakes and drinks will be part of the class and the group will end with a story and songs.
